Karen joined Altman Investment Management, LLC in January 2008. As Senior Portfolio Manager, her responsibilities include performance reporting and attribution, security analysis, trading, investment commentary contribution, business analysis and due diligence reporting.
Prior to her joining Altman Investment Management, LLC, Karen was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, within the Private Investors division. In this position, Karen was responsible for managing portfolios for separate high net worth clients. Her role included oversight and implementation of the investment process, encompassing macroeconomic analysis, asset and sector allocation, stock selection and compliance maintenance. Her team, led by Peter Altman, was focused on the Value Investment approach. Karen was instrumental in new business generation as Private Investors regionalized their business and expanded their product offerings. Prior to joining the Value team, Karen also held positions as Mutual Fund/Money Market Specialist and Business Analyst, reporting directly to a Managing Director of the Private Portfolio and Trust Portfolio Groups.
Karen was awarded a CFA designation in September 2001. She received B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Rider University, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, in 1993 and 1994, respectively, with a major in business administration and a concentration in economics.
